Overview
Nancy Anderson is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group. Ms. Anderson's practice focuses on helping clients successfully navigate the complex regulatory issues affecting the delivery of education from preschool through university, including institutions and the rapidly growing technology companies that support education.
Ms. Anderson advises on regulatory matters affecting the sale, acquisition, merger and restructuring of for-profit and nonprofit institutions and companies that provide education and training within the U.S. and globally. Her clients rely on her for strategies to comply with laws and regulations governing online education across state and national borders, as well as securing and protecting institutional access to the federal student loan and grant programs. She also counsels clients on compliance and investigations arising under the various federal civil rights laws that affect companies in the education space, including Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Anderson was an attorney at a global law firm in its Washington, D.C., office. Previously, she interned in the U.S. Department of Education Office of the General Counsel, focusing on civil rights issues and federal student aid compliance. She also interned with the University of Virginia Office of the University Counsel, where she handled a wide variety of regulatory issues confronting a large public research university.
While in law school, Ms. Anderson served as the managing editor for the Washington and Lee Law Review. Prior to law school, she was a paralegal in the education practice of a national law firm.
