Overview

Anna S. Ayar is a California real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Century City office. Ms. Ayar strategically supports clients in balancing the legal risk and business priorities in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions across the U.S.

Understanding the complex nature of property acquisition and real estate financing, Ms. Ayar leads clients through acquisitions, financings, joints ventures, leasing, developments and dispositions of commercial real estate located throughout the U.S. She represents private and institutional investors, purchasers, owners, family offices and developers in connection with complex real estate transactions, with an emphasis on acquisitions and dispositions of a wide range of asset types, including office and industrial buildings, vacant land for development, multifamily, student housing, retail, mixed-use and hospitality projects. Ms. Ayar manages large due diligence projects for portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, and she analyzes and resolves complex title, survey and zoning matters.

Ms. Ayar also has extensive experience negotiating purchase and sale agreements and lease documents for real estate properties being conveyed in connection with larger corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A), with an emphasis on acquisitions and dispositions of vehicle and car dealerships and service centers throughout the U.S.

In addition, Ms. Ayar represents clients in homebuilder financing (land banking) deals and transactions involving self-storage facilities.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Ayar was an attorney for a national boutique real estate law firm in Los Angeles.

  • Representation of an institutional real estate investor in the disposition of more than $1 billion of office properties, and more than $2.5 billion of apartment projects located throughout the United States
  • Representation of an institutional real estate investor in the acquisition of more than $1 billion of apartment projects located throughout the U.S.
  • Representation of an opportunity fund as the purchaser/landlord in connection with a $320 million sale-leaseback transaction involving 12 retail properties located in 10 states in the U.S.
  • Representation of an opportunity fund as the purchaser/landlord in connection with a $500 million sale-leaseback transaction involving eight grocery warehouse properties located in five states in the U.S.
  • Representation of an institutional real estate investor in the portfolio acquisition and financing of 36 industrial properties located in five states in the U.S., as well as 38 industrial properties located in five states in the U.S.
  • Representation of an institutional real estate investor in the disposition through auction of office, hotel, retail and industrial properties and land located throughout the U.S.
