Overview

Benjamin Cuevas is a financial transactions attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office and a member of the firm's Corporate Services Team. Mr. Cuevas primarily advises clients in cross-border banking, project finance, acquisition finance and other financial transactions in Latin America.

Mr. Cuevas also advises clients in capital markets transactions, including equity and debt corporate issuances for a variety of corporations in critical industry sectors such as technology, aviation, oil and gas, mining, power generation and toll roads. In addition, he assists private and public corporations, family offices and high-net-worth clients on corporate financing, asset financing, project finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Cuevas was an associate in the finance practice of an international law firm in its New York office. He has also worked for two top-tier law firms in Chile.

  • Represented a leading bank headquartered in Ecuador and with operations throughout the Andean region, as borrower, in a senior unsecured credit facility for up to $90 million provided by a syndicate of banks
  • Represented a multilateral investment bank as lender of a loan up to $70 million to a Chilean non-profit caja de compensación
  • Represented a multilateral investment bank as lender of a loan up to $45 million to finance capital expenditures and working capital needs related to expansion capacity and enhancement of a Mexican agribusiness corporation
