Overview
Maria J. de la Motte is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office. Ms. de la Motte focuses her practice on real estate finance transactions.
Ms. de la Motte represents insurance companies, banks and other commercial real estate investors in commercial mortgage loan originations, including credit tenant lease financings and loans intended for inclusion in securitizations, including collateralized loan obligations (CLO) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), as well as mezzanine loans. Ms. de la Motte also represents lenders and corporate trustees on behalf of lenders in defeasance transactions and prepayments.
During law school, Ms. de la Motte worked at the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance and served as a teaching assistant for first-year property. Additionally, she worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. de la Motte serves as a co-coordinator of the Boston office's Women’s Initiative and coordinates the office's parents' group.
