Overview

Anthony DeLorenzo, LEED AP ND, is a land use planner in Holland & Knight's Tysons office, where he is an integral member of the firm's Land Use and Government Team. With more than two decades of industry experience, including 12 years working in local government, Mr. DeLorenzo collaborates with the firm's nationally recognized development, land use and zoning attorneys to support clients in acquiring, planning and developing real estate projects.

Mr. DeLorenzo has been instrumental in several major land use and transportation planning initiatives around the region, notably leading various urban planning initiatives, including the Embark Richmond Highway transit project, as he led a team in planning efforts to transform a suburban auto-dominated corridor into an urban, transit-oriented, mixed-use corridor. Notably, this project earned the 2018 Virginia Commonwealth Plan of the Year award from the American Planning Association.

Beyond large-scale transit projects, Mr. DeLorenzo advises on all phases of redevelopment, from conceptual design through construction. His extensive experience in community planning, park planning and affordable housing has fueled his advocacy for designing healthy, vibrant communities.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. DeLorenzo served as the urban design and planning manager for the Department of General Services in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw strategic planning, capital improvement planning, citywide planning and the Design Excellence Program. He also held roles as a senior planner for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, as well as a revitalization program manager for the Fairfax County Department of Planning.
