Overview

Agnes O. Doyle is an experienced trial attorney with a track record of success in a wide range of complex litigation matters. Ms. Doyle routinely counsels clients in a broad range of healthcare, maritime and financial services litigation, as well as energy, construction, real estate and intellectual property disputes.

Specifically, Ms. Doyle also regularly counsels managed care organizations, insurance companies, hospitals, and healthcare providers in matters related to healthcare agreement disputes, denial of healthcare claims, regulatory compliance as well as alleged insurance and administrative codes violations in administrative proceedings. She also has experience in defending clients in white collar defense cases related to healthcare, Medicare and Medicaid fraud charges.

She frequently represents domestic and international charterers, shippers and vessel owners in disputes related to maritime contracts, vessel damage, cargo contamination, demurrage and detention, and general average issues in federal courts and arbitrations, as well as provides advice related to offshore operating agreements and other maritime based agreements.

Ms. Doyle also represents financial institutions and financial service companies, such as banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, and settlement structure companies in litigation related to contractual disputes, consumer fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and debt collection efforts.

In addition, Ms. Doyle also serves as the Public and Charitable Services attorney for Holland & Knight's Houston office, leading charitable services and pro bono efforts. She also serves on the board of directors for The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation.

  • Obtained favorable settlement in the representation of a managed care organization related to the denial of unclean healthcare provider claims and breaches of provider agreements in an arbitration proceeding
  • Represented insurance company in an administrative proceeding related to alleged insurance code and administrative code violations
  • Represented and mediated an employment dispute for a national medical practice partnership in defense against a former employee
  • Obtained a favorable settlement in the representation of a healthcare partnership related to the termination of a partner's share
  • Successfully defended a physician in a criminal case regarding allegations of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, mail fraud and wire fraud

  • Successfully defended a bank in a multimillion-dollar dispute seeking to set aside an arbitration agreement and revive previously settled claims
  • Successfully represented a lender in federal court in a matter related to a fraudulent transfer and tortious interference dispute that resulted in a favorable settlement for the lender
  • Obtained a favorable award for a lender in a contractual and deceptive trade practices dispute in an arbitration proceeding
  • Successfully represented a financial services company in a contractual and deceptive trade practices dispute against a consumer in a state court proceeding that resulted in the dismissal of claims

  • Successfully obtained a dismissal of all claims in the representation of a global energy company in a federal court proceeding related to alleged cargo contamination
  • Successfully obtained a favorable settlement in the representation of a global charterer in a matter related to demurrage charges
  • Successfully obtained a favorable settlement in the representation of a global charterer stemming from alleged vessel damages
  • Advised an international energy company regarding the execution of an offshore operating agreement and provided analysis for key liability provisions and avoidance of same

  • Obtained a multimillion-dollar settlement for an energy provider in a dispute related to the breach of an energy management agreement and letter agreement for the purchase of electricity ancillary services capacity
  • Represented an energy company in a dispute related to millions in unpaid broker fees arising from the assignment and assumption of a broker agreement and customer electricity agreements
  • Obtained a favorable judgment and injunctive relief for an energy sector client in a theft and fraudulent transfer dispute

  • Obtained a favorable award for a contractor in a construction dispute related to the misappropriation of trust funds in an arbitration proceeding
  • Successfully represented a subcontractor in a warranty dispute against the owner and general contractor in connection with a real estate development project

  • Obtained a favorable settlement for a risk management company in a misappropriation of trade secret, breach of fiduciary duty and employment dispute against the company’s former employees and competitor in federal court
  • Obtained a dismissal of claims for an international airline company in a discrimination and defamation dispute in federal court
  • Successfully represented an international manufacturer in a products liability dispute, resulting in the dismissal of claims

  • Successfully obtained termination of unilateral receivership and removal of receiver blocking judicial foreclosure sales of a portfolio of properties and secured a multimillion-dollar judgment stemming from defaulted loans in the representation of a commercial real estate investor
  • Successfully represented a lender in negotiating the sale of a commercial real estate property after default by borrower
  • Served as trustee in several multimillion-dollar commercial real estate property foreclosure sales
