Overview

Timothy "Tim" Kobes is a government contracts (GovCon) attorney based in Holland & Knight's New York office. Mr. Kobes focuses his practice on regulatory and compliance matters related to government grants and procurements, and he supports clients through all phases of grant and contract life cycles, including eligibility determination, teaming agreement and joint venture formation, bid and proposal support, contract administration and program closeout.

With broad industry experience in legal, compliance and operational roles across multiple industries, Mr. Kobes provides a deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the practical challenges faced by companies supporting government customers. His experience includes overseeing contract management functions for large government contractors, managing contracts with more than $3 billion a year in revenue and proposal activity of more than $8 billion. He has also helped small companies and technology startups obtain their first government grants and contracts, establish compliance and risk management programs, and balance public sector requirements with commercial operations. Mr. Kobes has worked with a wide variety of government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Department of State, NASA and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as foreign governments and intergovernmental organizations.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Kobes worked as senior counsel at a multinational law firm.

Not yet admitted to the New York Bar; admitted to Virginia and District of Columbia Bars only and practicing under the supervision of lawyers licensed to practice in New York.
