Overview

Sydney Landers is a business attorney in Holland & Knight's Miami office. Ms. Landers focuses her practice on private equity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and general corporate matters.

Additionally, Ms. Landers counsels television and film producers, institutional clients and creators with licensing, governance and protection of intellectual property, and in the negotiation, drafting and review of contracts.

During law school, Ms. Landers participated in the Investor Rights Clinic, representing investors in securities arbitration claims against their brokers before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She also served as articles and comments editor of the University of Miami Law Review.

  • Representation of a global entertainment company in connection with the licensing of a live special to a streaming company
  • Representation of a global hotel chain in a variety of agreements, including the exhibition of a holiday-themed live show, the engagement of an entertainment agency to provide lobby entertainment and the licensing of hotel intellectual property to a board game
  • Representation of an influencer agency in connection with a merchandising and endorsement agreement to develop merchandise incorporating an influencer's trademarks, name, image, likeness and other intellectual property
  • Representation of companies in the development of influencer and brand ambassador agreements
  • Representation of a machinery manufacturer in a tradeout agreement for the manufacturer's machinery to be featured in a television episode
  • Representation of an author in the publication of his book as well as representation of the client's associated film production company in the creation of a feature film based on the client's book and screenplay
  • Representation of a production company in the acquisition of book rights for use in television and film
  • Representation of a documentary film client in the production of its films on all legal matters, including preparing draft agreements, reviewed contracts and other aspects
  • Representation of a producer in organizing and securing the copyright for his intellectual property related to registering copyrights (pitch ideas), draft agreements and other aspects
  • Representation of a ballet and entertainment business in a sponsorship deal and in an agreement with a production company for an upcoming documentary series
