Overview
Maite Laris García Urtiaga is a senior policy advisor in Holland & Knight's Mexico City office. Ms. Laris is a political and public policy consultant who focuses on managing and identifying key government affairs and institutional relations within the socio-political landscape in Mexico. She has a clear understanding of the Mexican federal policy and regulatory processes, engaging proactively in a dialogue with relevant policymakers, federal agencies, stakeholders and key actors in the region.
Ms. Laris has experience assisting companies in the energy, logistics and transportation, finance, pharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors to understand, analyze and identify risks and opportunities for businesses in the political and legislative sphere. She has successfully represented large companies and organizations before Mexico's Congress and the executive branch, by helping them achieve their development and policy goals.
She has also worked with the Mexican Business Council, one of the top business organizations in the country on their public affairs strategy. Ms. Laris' experience and connection to the private and the public sectors allow her to provide strategic and practical advice regarding public affairs.
In addition, Ms. Laris has prior experience working at a civic organization focusing on formulating policy recommendations in matters of government corruption and compliance. She conducted research and drafted advice regarding complex matters of state and federal public policy, government ethics and administrative law.
