Overview
Arielle S. Lewis is a commercial contracts attorney in Holland & Knight's Orlando office, where she focuses her practice on reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, including policy review, grant agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU). She also advises clients on legal risks or liability exposure and the correct contract to be used to carry out the client's objectives. Ms. Lewis is experienced in transactional matters involving an array of agreements, such as commercial contracts, cooperation agreements and policy drafting.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Lewis worked for the in-house legal department of a law enforcement agency, where she was primarily responsible for reviewing and drafting contracts, policies and legal bulletins. She advised on different issues that the organization faced, rendered legal advice regarding constitutional law, trained law enforcement officers and investigated claims that were brought against the agency from employees. She also represented the agency in risk protection order litigation and the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act litigation.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Lewis focused her practice on the public interest sector, where she represented clients at injunction hearings, including victims of domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. She also defended parents who faced child welfare charges and, during this time, she volunteered as a guardian ad litem attorney. Ms. Lewis also has a significant background in civil litigation, and is skilled in oral and written communications.
In addition, Ms. Lewis has extensive experience in researching and writing, and served as the executive editor of the Environmental and Earth Law Journal in law school. Ms. Lewis also wrote several newspaper and magazine articles during her undergraduate years.
