Overview
Meghan McCaig is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas office, where she represents clients in all types of high-stakes business litigation matters, including complex commercial, employment, tax, First Amendment, and oil and gas disputes. Ms. McCaig has represented clients in matters in Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, New Jersey and Mississippi. She practices before federal and state trial and appellate courts and before arbitration panels and has significant experience defending clients against class- and collective-action claims. Ms. McCaig also represents pro bono immigration clients through Human Rights Initiative, which provides legal services to people who have suffered human rights abuse.
Ms. McCaig is also Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. McCaig has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including energy, transportation, education, real estate, aviation and manufacturing, among others.
After law school, Ms. McCaig served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Catherina Haynes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

- Represented an electricity and gas reseller in consumer class action cases in Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, including obtaining dismissal of several cases at the motion to dismiss and summary judgment stages
- Represented an airline in consumer class action litigation in Texas, Oklahoma and California, and obtained dismissal of all cases
- Represented a law firm in legal malpractice action, obtaining a favorable summary judgment ruling that was upheld on appeal
- Represented a nonprofit in action involving defamation, tortious interference and conspiracy claims, resulting in dismissal and a favorable Texas Supreme Court ruling
- Represented an individual in a defamation lawsuit, resulting in dismissal and a favorable Texas Supreme Court ruling
- Represented a technology company in a Fair Credit Reporting Act dispute
- Represented oil and gas companies in title disputes
- Represented a manufacturer in construction defect case
- Represents a major petroleum company in tax refund litigation in federal court

- Represented a political campaign in numerous lawsuits alleging breach of contract, unjust enrichment, promissory estoppel and violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), successfully obtaining dismissal of claims
- Represented a healthcare company in claims against a former employee for breach of non-solicitation agreement
- Represented an electric and gas reseller in claims against former employees for breach of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements
- Represented an offshore drilling company in various lawsuits involving discrimination and harassment
- Represents a title company in lawsuit involving breach of employment contract
- Represented a renewable energy company in collective action under FLSA
