Overview

Allysan Scatterday is an intellectual property (IP) attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. She focuses her practice on a variety of IP matters, including trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, franchising, licensing and data privacy. Ms. Scatterday assists clients across a range of industries in building and managing their IP portfolios as well as protecting and enforcing their IP rights.

Ms. Scatterday drafts and negotiates a variety of agreements that support her clients' business needs, including IP licenses and assignments, software agreements, website terms of use, privacy policies and end-user license agreements. She regularly advises clients on the IP and information technology (IT) aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including conducting thorough due diligence, evaluating risks and negotiating key agreement terms.

Prior to law school, Ms. Scatterday took a nontraditional path to her legal career, with work in the academic, federal government and nonprofit sectors. She has a wide range of professional experience, from toxicological and epidemiological research, to supporting live sports broadcasting and production, to developing interventions to reduce food insecurity. She draws on these broad experiences to understand her clients' diverse and unique needs and identify inventive, personalized solutions.
