Overview

Wynter Haley Scott is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas office, where she focuses her practice on a wide variety of legal issues in the commercial and regulatory sectors, including the representation of financial institutions, energy, healthcare and technology companies.

Ms. Scott has experience with a broad range of legal matters, including drafting pleadings and motions, discovery management, and negotiating and drafting complex settlement agreements. Much of her litigation work concerns business torts, breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation and fraudulent misrepresentation claims. In addition to dispute resolution, Ms. Scott regularly assists financial services clients in understanding potential regulatory compliance obligations and developing strategies to mitigate risks.

Ms. Scott's recent representative matters include:

  • assisting a multinational financial services company with fortifying its compliance requirements by analyzing and summarizing legal requirements across all 50 states and U.S. territories 
  • representing a major debt collector against fraud and contract breach allegations 
  • providing assistance on behalf of a national financing company, analyzing laws across various states related to consumer financing for sales of boats, boat trailers, all-terrain vehicles/utility task vehicles (ATVs/UTVs) and trailers

While in law school, Ms. Scott interned with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee and participated in school's Criminal Practice Clinic. Additionally, Ms. Scott was a member of the Moot Court Board.
