Overview

Albert Singer is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Singer concentrates his practice on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development and leasing of various commercial real estate assets, including office buildings, multifamily residential projects, industrial and distribution centers, mixed-use properties, shopping centers, data centers, government real estate and hotels. This practice includes the acquisition, disposition and financing of single-asset and multi-asset, multistate portfolio transactions.

Mr. Singer represents institutional investors, such as pension funds, real estate advisory groups and real estate investment trusts (REITs), as well as developers, lenders, borrowers, landlords and tenants in connection with their local and national real estate investments in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Singer worked for an international law firm in its Washington, D.C., office, where he focused on real estate transactions.

Representative Experience

  • Represented a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) in the more than $635 million acquisition of a 10-property portfolio comprised of buildings leased to the U.S. federal government located in seven states
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the more than $205 million sale of a 10-property portfolio comprised of buildings leased to the U.S. federal government located in eight states
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the $119 million acquisition of an approximately 495,000-square-foot office building leased to the U.S. federal government located in Missouri
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the $70.35 million acquisition of a 138,000-square-foot office building leased to the U.S. federal government located in Florida
  • Represented a privately held asset management firm in the $306.5 million acquisition of the ground tenant interest of two office buildings aggregating approximately 656,000 square feet located in Brooklyn, New York
  • Represented a privately held asset management firm in the more than $204 million acquisition of an office complex containing three buildings located in Arlington, Virginia
  • Represented a privately held global real estate investment firm in the $305 million acquisition of a Class A office building containing approximately 546,000 square feet located in Washington, D.C.
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the $170 million sale of an office building containing approximately 166,000 rentable square feet located in New York City
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the $129 million sale of an approximately 12.5-acre office campus located in Massachusetts comprised of two office buildings aggregating approximately 440,000 square feet and two parking garages
  • Represented a pension fund in the more than $318 million sale of a 15-property portfolio located in Texas comprised of industrial warehouse buildings containing an aggregate of approximately 3.2 million square feet
  • Represented a pension fund in the more than $113 million sale of an approximately 128-acre industrial warehouse property located in Texas
  • Represented a pension fund in the $52.75 million sale of an approximately 38-acre industrial warehouse property located in Texas
  • Represented the government of an eastern European country in its acquisition of a property located in Washington, D.C., to be used for chancery purposes
  • Represented a lender in the $52.3 million financing of the acquisition and construction of a continuum of care senior living facility located in New York
  • Represented a lender in the $24.3 million financing of the acquisition and construction of an assisted living and memory care facility located in New York
