Overview

Missy Turra is a condominium, resort and hospitality lawyer in Florida based in Holland & Knight's Jacksonville and Miami offices. She is the practice group leader for the Southeast Real Estate Practice Group and co-chair of the Condominium Development & Conversion Team. She has practiced in the area of master planned communities, condominium, mixed use and resort development for more than 25 years. Ms. Turra's broad experience also includes representing developers and operators of single family and multifamily residential developments in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, finance, development and operation matters. Ms. Turra also advises management companies, hotel brands and lenders in connection with condominium and resort developments.

Ms. Turra provides advice and counsel to clients in the hospitality and real estate industry as follows:

  • representing developers in connection with all aspects of real estate transactions
  • representing developers of mixed-use developments (resort, office, retail, hotel and residential components), including acquisition, disposition, development, registration, operations, permitting and borrower-side financing
  • representing developers in connection with the acquisition, conversion and disposition of thousands of Florida condominium units
  • representing developers in connection with Florida Condominium Act and Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act registrations
  • representing lenders and borrowers in connection with condominium aspects of construction loans secured by condominium projects, including successor developer, bulk buyer and bulk assignee considerations
  • representing management companies and brands in connection of condominium compliance with brand standards and rental management program and operational requirements
  • representing developers in connection with residential closings on luxury residential condominium units
  • representing developer-controlled homeowner, property owner and condominium associations, including daily operational matters, regime restructuring and turnover advice and counsel

Ms. Turra previously served as the executive partner for Holland & Knight's Jacksonville office, the practice group leader for the firm's Jacksonville Real Estate Group and was the Women's Initiative coordinator for the Jacksonville office. She is a member of the firm's Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Sector Group. Ms. Turra frequently speaks at real property conferences and symposiums.

Ms. Turra has competed in state and national tennis competitions throughout her life and was a four-year starter on the varsity tennis team at the University of Maryland.
