Overview

Benjamin J. Tyler is a Miami attorney and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Mr. Tyler's diverse practice includes experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters, procurement disputes and bid protests, labor and employment litigation as well as counseling and internal investigations.

In his commercial litigation practice, Mr. Tyler has represented corporations and individuals in contractual, lease and trust disputes in state and federal courts across the country. He also represents clients before governmental, administrative and regulatory agencies at the state and municipal levels on a variety of matters, including bid protests, as well as related litigation before administrative bodies and in court.

In his employment practice, Mr. Tyler assists clients in Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and retaliation claims in state and federal courts. He also has significant experience conducting sensitive internal investigations for companies of all sizes and has assisted companies undergoing simultaneous investigations in multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to rejoining Holland & Knight, where he began his legal career, Mr. Tyler served as a law clerk for the Honorable Rodolfo Ruiz II in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. After his clerkship, he worked on the Voter Protection Team for President Joe Biden's 2020 campaign and served as the general counsel for a statewide political party.

While in law school, Mr. Tyler was an articles editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Law Ethics & Public Policy and a co-director of the Group Alternative Live-In Legal Education (GALILEE) public interest law program. He also served as an extern at the National Immigrant Justice Center and completed an internship with the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
