Valentina Vergara

Valentina Vergara Echeverri is a corporate and tax attorney in Holland & Knight's Bogotá office, where she focuses her practice on tax, foreign exchange, corporate and contractual law.

Ms. Vergara has experience drafting concepts and executive memorandums in the area of tax and corporate law, memorials and responses to requirements, as well as summons and official assessments issued by the National Tax and Customs Authority (DIAN). Ms. Vergara reviews and analyzes tax returns, and drafts consultations addressed to the DIAN and other administrative entities. She also drafts, reviews and analyzes commercial agreements and other legal documents.

Additionally, Ms. Vergara researches legal issues in the tax and corporate area, provides support in structuring corporate schemes, litigations, due diligence processes and proceedings before the DIAN and the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá. She also assists with the tax planning of companies and families, among others.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight in her current role, Ms. Vergara was a law clerk in the firm's Bogotá office. Previously, she worked as a legal assistant for a law firm in Bogotá, where she handled matters of insurance and civil liability law, which gave her in-depth knowledge on the preparation of legal concepts and litigation matters.
