Overview
Rich Wynne is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas office. Mr. Wynne focuses his practice on intellectual property (IP) litigation and counseling, as well as intellectual property licensing. His IP litigation practice encompasses disputes regarding patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and other intellectual property rights.
Representative Experience
- Representing an international semiconductor developer in multi-jurisdictional litigation relating to video encoding and streaming technology
- Defended a leading wireless handset manufacturer and telecommunications infrastructure-equipment company in a patent-infringement lawsuit relating to cellular-transmission protocols; obtained jury verdict of non-infringement and invalidity of all asserted patent claims
- Represented a patent owner in infringement action on several patents relating to Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) protocols, obtaining jury verdict of infringement and validity
- Represented a patent owner in infringement suit involving power-management patents applicable to mobile devices; obtained settlement before trial after favorable claim construction
- Defended a semiconductor developer in Section 337 proceeding in the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) relating to bonding-pad technology; obtained initial determination of invalidity of all asserted patent claims
- Defended an international telecommunications-equipment company in a patent-infringement action relating to asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switching technology
- Defended a major semiconductor manufacturer in Section 337 proceedings before the USITC relating to manufacture of semiconductor devices; obtained determinations of no violation relating to seven patents
- Defended a leading wireless handset maker in multiple patent-infringement actions relating to internet-connected mobile devices in various courts
- Defended an international company in a copyright-infringement action relating to management-training materials
- Represented a manufacturer of ignition-interlock devices in litigation to prevent infringement of manufacturer's trademarks
