Environment attorney Meaghan Colligan will be speaking at The 10th Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop event hosted by the Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast. The session will discuss the new research involving per- and poly-fluorinated alkylated substances (PFAS). Studies have shown that PFAS are actually more dangerous to our health and environment than predicted. Professionals are now developing guidelines to follow within cases since lawsuits have been released of people seeking damages for personal injury, property damage and cost recovery. This session will give insight into what PFAS are and the complexity of them, discuss potential liabilities, due diligence steps to follow and explain which mitigation measures are available.
