New York Real Estate Trends Webinar Series Part 2: Converting Rental Apartment Buildings to Condominiums
Holland & Knight Webinar
Please join Holland & Knight's Real Estate Practice for the second presentation in our webinar series on New York Real Estate Trends.
Part 2: Converting Rental Apartment Buildings to Condominiums
The Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act (HSTPA) changed the law relating to conversions of rental buildings to condominiums and cooperatives, making them more difficult but not impossible. Many successful complex conversions were handled by lawyers at Holland & Knight prior to the enactment of the HSTPA.
In this webinar, our speakers will review the conversion of apartment buildings to condominiums, condops or co-ops in the post-HSTPA era. Six panelists in the field of conversions will share their thoughts as to how landlords who are interested in liquidating their investments in rental buildings can do so successfully. We will also examine the requirements of Part 23 of the Attorney General's Regulations in light of the changes made by the HSTPA, how issues arising in prior conversions were successfully dealt with, restrictions on dealing with tenants, how a property should be managed prior to and during a conversion, and most importantly, marketing techniques.
