Attorney Bill Shepherd Helps Mentor Kids Through Take Stock in Children

Former Florida state prosecutor Bill Shepherd discusses his participation in Take Stock in Children, a program that helps students from low-income families attend college. In an interview, Mr. Shepherd discusses his participation as a mentor alongside one of the students participating in the program.

Mr. Shepherd said his background in prosecuting cases motivated him to participate in the program and to recruit other attorneys as fellow mentors in the program.

"I think it helps everybody realize that these are community issues that everybody needs to be involved in," Mr. Shepherd said.
