Court Leaves in Place Single-Use Plastic Tax

Tax attorney Juan Pablo Díaz was interviewed by Radio Javeriana Estéreo about the Constitutional Court's decision to declare constitutional the tax on single-use plastics proposed by Colombia's President Gustavo Petro. Mr. Díaz highlighted the environmental importance of the tax, and also noted that it could increase production costs, that could potentially be passed on to consumers, thus affecting the price of packaged plastic products. Similarly, he explained how the Court eliminated certain elements to guarantee legal coherence and certainty.
