Intellectual Property attorney Catalina Gutiérrez Albornoz wrote an article for Lexir analyzing the current regulations in Colombia in relation to artistic works created through artificial intelligence (AI). This technology has been of great use in a variety of areas, such as scientific research, while at the same time raising questions about the possibility of applying copyright law to works created by AI based on human intervention. In this article, the author summarizes Colombian laws with respect to this matter, pointing out that currently, these works are not subject to protection from the country's National Directorate of Copyright.
