Life Partners' Trustee Moran Seeks $28m in Compensation
Tom Moran wants $28 million in fees for managing the Life Partners Holdings Inc. bankruptcy case. David Bennett, a partner with the Thompson & Knight LLP law firm in Dallas who represents Moran, said in an e-mail said the present value determination is the same discount rate and formula that Judge Russell Nelms previously approved for the class counsel's fee in the case. That request is for $33 million. The class-action settlement resolved the ownership issue, allowing investors to hold their policy interests if they so choose or put them in a pool.
