Firm Disqualified Although Conflicted Lawyer Retired
A federal district court in Illinois decided that a lawyer should be disqualified because his newly retired colleague had represented one of the defendants in a previous matter earlier in the year.
Partner Trisha Rich commented on the decision, saying “It feels like a harsh result.” She also admitted that it is “an incredibly close call given these facts.”
