Green Concrete Idea From Netflix's Hit 'Unstable' Has Potential
Carbon Capture, Use and Storage attorney Emily Lieban was recently quoted in a Law360 article about the feasibility of developing carbon-capturing concrete, which has become a hot topic in the environmental industry since the release of the Netflix series “Unstable.” The article investigates the current state of carbon-capturing concrete and what factors may negatively affect further developments. Ms. Lieban provided insights on ongoing projects and research regarding carbon-neutral and carbon capturing cement.
“UCLA has also been running a project with [Department of Energy] funding to demonstrate viability of carbon-neutral cement... Carbon capture through mineralization is definitely a real thing, although it's still in pretty nascent stages," she explains.
