How Do You Lobby a House Without a Speaker?
Public Policy and Regulation Group Leader Rich Gold was quoted in a Washington Post article about the race among various candidates to be nominated as Speaker of the House. The article discusses the implications of the situation for Washington, D.C., House Republicans and the lobbying industry.
Mr. Gold commented, "if we go another couple of weeks without a speaker, it's hard to see how we get approps done this year," in reference to pending appropriations bills.
"If we go to Thanksgiving without a speaker and we have a shutdown we may not get NDAA,” he added, referencing the annual defense policy bill.
