Lack of Gas Limits Investment in Istmo
Tax attorney Eugenio Grageda was mentioned in an article published by Reforma about how the lack of gas in Corredor del Istmo de Tehuantepec, Mexico, affects the arrival of foreign companies to the region. The Mexican government offered tax incentives to taxpayers who carry out certain economic activities within the region. However, Mr. Grageda insisted that the lack of availability of this fuel prevents the arrival of many companies to the area.
"But due to the lack of gas, it has not been possible or there is no interest on the part of many foreign companies to use that benefit that already exists, where tax benefits were created for companies located within the Isthmus of Tehuantepec," he said.
