Industry's Key Policy Issues for 2024

Quantum Computing attorney Paul Stimers was quoted in a Politico Pro article about the Quantum Industry Coalition's 2024 policy priorities, including passage of the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act. The bill reauthorizing the National Quantum Initiative (NQI), which is the driving force behind the nation's quantum tech, advanced out of the House Science Committee last month but has yet to be brought for a floor vote.

Mr. Stimers said it's critical to reauthorize and update the NQI "to reflect five years of advances in technology and the quantum industry ecosystem, and to prepare for the next phase of U.S. quantum leadership." Just as important, he added, is ensuring NQI programs and quantum research and development efforts get the necessary funding.
