'Wild West' of Neuroscience Drives New Laws on Brain Privacy

Data strategy and privacy attorney Rachel Marmor was quoted in a Context article examining the privacy and legal concerns surrounding brain science. Artificial intelligence (AI) systems and other technology are only expected to advance, which raises questions about the possibility of commercial misconduct of data from the human brain. Professionals in the field are calling for neural data regulation before the industry has the chance to cause harm. Ms. Marmor said it's unclear how the regulation would affect the industry.

"Until there’s a bunch of enforcement actions it's going to be hard to move the needle on how businesses approach this," she explained.
