Holland & Knight Honored by LatinFinance for Fibra UNO Follow-On Equity Deal of the Year
MEXICO CITY (January 21, 2015) – Holland & Knight was honored by LatinFinance magazine for its role in Fibra UNO’s US$2.5 billion follow-on public offering, a deal that was named the Follow-On Equity Deal of the Year. The award was announced at LatinFinance’s annual Deals of the Year ceremony in New York on January 15.
The Deals of the Year awards recognize the most impressive transactions completed by companies and the government during the past year. The winners are selected by LatinFinance’s editorial team following a rigorous evaluation of data and extensive discussion with market participants. The selection process takes into account the market significance or strategic importance of deals, and how they were structured and executed.
A team of Holland & Knight attorneys led by Mexico City partner Guillermo Uribe advised Fibra UNO, Mexico's first publicly-traded REIT, on the global follow-on public offering in June 2014. Under the terms of the landmark deal, Fibra UNO offered 800.4 million CBFIs (shares), including an overallotment option and a hot deal option.
The US$2.5 billion Fibra UNO raised through its offering is the highest amount raised by a FIBRA (Mexican REIT) and one of the highest for a Mexican issuer in the last 14 years. The CBFIs were oversubscribed four times with more than 5,200 investors participating in the deal.
