Holland & Knight Represents Quálitas Controladora in Acquisition of Majority Stake in a Transnational Technology Company
MEXICO CITY (May 12, 2023) – Holland & Knight advised Quálitas Controladora S.A.B. de C.V., the largest automobile insurance company in Mexico, in the acquisition of a majority stake in Digital Communications Technologies LLC (DCT), a U.S.-based technology company with offices in Mexico, Colombia, Canada and Costa Rica.
This transaction is one of three outbound investments by a Mexican company in April 2023.
DCT has more than 15 years of experience in the development of telemetry-oriented hardware and software for the use in heavy and light equipment fleets, as well as in data analysis.
Quálitas, headquartered in Mexico City, has the largest market share in automobile insurance in Mexico and has a presence in El Salvador, Costa Rica, the U.S. and Peru. Its business model, with more than 25 years of experience in the auto industry, has enabled Quálitas to offer top-quality service under the largest coverage network in Mexico.
The investment in DCT is aimed at generating value for agents, policyholders and investors. Additionally, Quálitas will maintain the option to expand its ownership in the future, with the possibility of acquiring the entire company.
