Kate M. Ferrara

Overview
Kate Ferrara is a Century City and Los Angeles attorney and a member of Holland & Knight's Financial Services Team and Entertainment Law and Sports practice. Ms. Ferrara focuses her practice on multijurisdictional secured lending transactions in a wide range of industries. She acts on behalf of lenders and borrowers in various corporate and commercial lending transactions. In addition, Ms. Ferrara has experience in transactional global finance matters, with an emphasis on asset-based financing and purchase and sale transactions.
In Ms. Ferrara's sports law practice, she serves as an agent to professional athletes. In this role, she provides players with representation services such as negotiating professional and endorsement contracts, marketing and handling of intellectual property deals. She also advises clients on compliance with sports laws and regulations. Ms. Ferrara is a Certified Contract Advisor with the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA). Prior to law school, she played Division I soccer on scholarship at the University of Akron.
Ms. Ferrara also is a member of the Business of Success beyond Sports (BOSS) program at the ESP Education & Leadership Institute. The BOSS program helps remove the obstacles in the paths of student athletes and their non-athlete peers from under-resourced communities and schools who are seeking to excel academically and become successful members of the community.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Ferrara practiced in the area of public finance representing governmental and nonprofit entities in connection with the issuance of bonds and other debt instruments, including general obligation bonds, lease revenue bonds, commercial paper, private placements, and fixed and variable rate financings.
