Overview

Henry Leventis is a healthcare attorney and litigator in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. He focuses his practice on government-facing litigation, internal investigations and related matters, with an emphasis on representing healthcare and life sciences companies.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Leventis served as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. In that role, he was the chief federal law enforcement officer and regulator for a district widely considered to be the nation's healthcare capital. Under Mr. Leventis' leadership, the U.S. Attorney's Office prioritized fighting fraud, waste and abuse in the healthcare system and increased its outreach to healthcare industry stakeholders. His office successfully resolved dozens of healthcare fraud enforcement matters involving hospitals, medical colleges, nursing homes, hospice care companies, Medicare Advantage organizations, laboratories, medical marketing companies, and individual owners, executives and providers. He was also a leading voice within the U.S. Department of Justice in policy discussions impacting the department's healthcare enforcement work. 

Mr. Leventis is an accomplished litigator and trial lawyer. Prior to his appointment as U.S. Attorney, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Nashville and a trial attorney at the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. He has investigated, litigated and tried dozens of high-stakes enforcement matters throughout the United States and held numerous leadership positions in the U.S. Attorney's Office, including Chief of the White-Collar Crime Unit and Director of Litigation over the Civil and Criminal Divisions.
