Overview

Pooja Ravisankar is a tax and corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office. With six years of experience, Ms. Ravisankar advises clients on tax and general corporate matters for a variety of tax-driven and corporate transactions.

Ms. Ravisankar's practice focuses on federal tax incentives for renewable energy, including advising on investment tax credits (ITC) and production tax credits (PTC) for electricity, natural gas, hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and clean fuels. She also advises on the Section 45Q tax credit for carbon capture and sequestration.

In addition, Ms. Ravisankar advises clients on structuring tax equity investments and project finance transactions. She also represents strategic and corporate investors, private equity funds, financial institutions and developers in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), restructurings, spinoffs, financings and project development and operations.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Ravisankar has provided pro bono legal assistance in various areas, including family law, housing matters, estate planning and corporate organization. Her work reflects a commitment to assisting those in need to navigate legal processes and protect their rights and interests.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Ravisankar practiced corporate and tax law at an international law firm in Chicago. During that time, she handled M&A and other complex business transactions for mid-market, strategic and private equity clients on the buy side and sell side, as well as advised on Corporate Transparency Act reporting requirements.

Previously, Ms. Ravisankar was a senior associate in the M&A tax practice at a major public accounting firm. In that role, she advised public and private clients on the tax aspects of M&A transactions, including tax structuring, modeling and related services.

While in law school, Ms. Ravisankar served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sue E. Myerscough at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
