Garland Taylor Smith is an attorney based in Holland & Knight's Chattanooga office and a member of the Corporate Services and Venture Capital Teams. Mr. Smith advises clients in mergers, acquisitions, private equity and venture capital financings.

Mr. Smith advises investors in venture capital and private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and provides business advice to clients making direct minority investments (venture and private equity) and acquisition financing.

  • Represented a client as buyer in the acquisition of a majority of the equity of Florida One Insurance Agency LLC, a Delaware limited liability company; the transaction involved a sophisticated pre-closing reorganization
  • Represented a client as buyer in the acquisition of all of the equity of The Benefits Group of Haudenschield, Harrison and Blachek LLC, an insurance brokerage company
  • Represented a client as buyer in the acquisition of all of the equity of IPA 18 LLC, an insurance brokerage company
