Overview

Albert Sueiras is a Miami intellectual property (IP) attorney who focuses his practice on guiding clients through a diverse range of IP matters.

Mr. Sueiras advises clients on a wide range of IP transactional issues, including patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret licenses, as well as joint development agreements, master service agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, master technology agreements, development agreements and technology asset purchase agreements. He also counsels clients on a variety of corporate transactions and supports deal teams on IP and technology aspects in connection with their transactions. Mr. Sueiras advises on finance, venture capital, representation and warranty (R&W) insurance, and private equity merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions.

Throughout his career, Mr. Sueiras has assisted companies across various stages of corporate development and technology sectors, including medical device technologies, health and human service providers, accessibility and customer support services, automotive processing platforms, clean energy technology, mechanical systems, athletic outerwear and consumer products, among other areas. Mr. Sueiras also leverages his technical background in biomedical engineering to offer insights into the convergence of the healthcare and technology industries.

As a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Mr. Sueiras has regularly prosecuted patents and trademarks for clients. Additionally, he assists in managing utility and design patent portfolios, conducting competitive patent and branding landscape analysis, providing opinion work, and preparing assertive and defensive strategies.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Sueiras worked as an IP attorney in California at an IP and technology firm and externed at the USPTO.
