June CFPB Update: Do You Always Have to ::Intend:: to Sue?

Attorneys Anthony DiResta and Brian Goodrich provide the monthly CFPB update for the Compliance Professionals Forum. Mr. DiResta and Mr. Goodrich will take a close look at a recent decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, which ruled that debt collectors do not run afoul of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act’s (FDCPA) prohibition on deceptive threats if collectors file a lawsuit against a consumer without the intention to go to trial.
