Department of Labor to Enforce New "Whistleblower" Provisions

Legislators of all political viewpoints now seem to agree that encouraging employee “whistleblowing” is an effective and comparatively low-cost complement to traditional public enforcement of federal laws. With the recent enactment of the Criminal Antitrust Anti-Retaliation Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act Congress lengthened the already substantial list of federal statutes that include provisions prohibiting employer retaliation against whistleblowers and that are administered by the Department of Labor.
