GOP Gains May Put Energy-Permitting Pact on the Table

Senior Policy Advisor Beth Viola spoke with Law360 about the Biden Administration's energy and climate policy priorities following the midterm elections. With Republicans gaining control of the House, clean energy measures are less likely to be passed, but many still see opportunities for bipartisan cooperation on energy infrastructure. Ms. Viola commented the administration will likely focus on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), such as regulations and guidance for constructing programs that will provide the funds included in the law.

"That has to be their priority: getting that money out the door," she said.
