Tangible Benefits of Nearshoring for This 2023
International trade and arbitration attorney Carlos Véjar was quoted in an article by El Financiero about the benefits of nearshoring for the Mexican economy. Mr. Véjar claimed that in order for Mexico to benefit from nearshoring, it needs to get involved in a coordinated manner with the private sector to promote the attraction of investments through greater political and economic certainty for the export sector. In addition, the country needs to facilitate the increase of new spaces to build industrial parks or expand existing ones.
"Improve the supply and costs of renewable energy and water supply; solving the difficulties in the supply chain that arise, improving times in obtaining export programs (IMMEX), and providing greater security in production areas and trade routes are some pending issues that must be resolved," he said.
