Clean Energy Industry Braces for Congressional, IRS Scrutiny
Congressional Investigations attorney Christopher Armstrong was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article about what the House GOP will focus on in its investigations into Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) clean energy tax credits and how the IRS will administer them. He said Republicans will look at whether companies claiming credits have connections to China, how they're using the credits and whether the businesses are insufficient. Lawmakers on the House Ways and Means Committee have criticized the credits, claiming the money is being directed to large corporations and foreign countries.
"Republicans were more hesitant than Democrats to do oversight in the private sector," Mr. Armstrong said. "I think those days are over."
