Bogotá Executive Partner Enrique Gómez-Pinzón was interviewed by Revista Semana regarding the 10 percent tariffs imposed on Colombia by the United States. He noted that although these tariffs won't initially affect ordinary citizens, they could spur economic changes and redirect trade toward Colombia, making products more competitively priced. Mr. Gómez-Pinzón underscored the importance of leveraging diplomacy and exploring alternative markets to tackle these challenges and unlock new opportunities.
"Colombian exporters need to anticipate these additional costs, assess the impact on their suppliers or importers and determine how to respond to the loss of competitiveness in their industrial or agricultural goods. This situation could lead to adjustments in the national economy in the short and medium term," he said.
