Agreement Would Unblock 13% of the Wind Energy Generated in La Guajira
Energy attorney José Zapata was interviewed by El Tiempo about wind energy efforts in La Guajira, Colombia. The National Government signed a pact with businesses and communities to push energy projects forward and unblock 13 percent of the wind energy generated in the region, but Mr. Zapata says the agreement falls short.
“It continues to be mistakenly believed that signing agreements and issuing decrees and resolutions will materialize the energy transition. Nothing could be further from reality,” said Mr. Zapata.
Mr. Zapata added that the country would continue to fall in ranking in the World Economic Forum’s energy transition if rules and decisions remain theoretical.
