What Will Eletrobras Prioritize with Its Investments?

Corporate attorney Peter Baumgaertner was quoted in The Dialogue's Energy Advisor about Brazilian state-owned power company Eletrobras' priorities with its investment funds and its contribution to Brazil’s green energy transition. Eletrobras is set to invest between 70 billion to 80 billion reais over the next five years for electricity generation, transmission projects and maintenance work.

Mr. Baugaerner shared that "Brazil accounts for approximately 7 percent of the Earth’s renewable energy production and is a leader in biofuels and hydropower technologies."

He also expressed that "Brazil should continue its leadership in energy innovation by investing in green hydrogen technologies and infrastructure, creating a $200 billion investment opportunity in Brazil over the next 20 years."
