Payment of Sunday and Night Shifts, Among the Approved Labor Reform

La República

Partner of the Labor and Social Security Law Diego Acevedo was quoted in an article published by La República about the approval of key aspects in the discussion of labor reform in Colombia. He highlighted the promotion of part-time contributions and protection schemes in the energy sector, but expressed concern about the uncertainty of costs for companies and the impact on Temporary Service Companies. Similarly, it was pointed out that the reform does not provide the necessary conditions for the creation of formal employment, crucial for economic reactivation. Mr. Acevedo expressed the need for a more relevant role in the generation of formal employment and the development of capabilities for businesses in the popular economy.

“The increase in new contributors to the Social Security System, since the reform promotes part-time contributions, even though it is not a new discussion within the productive sector,” he said.
