Mining attorney Estefanny Pardo was interviewed by Revista Semana about sustainable contracting or "green contracting" in Colombia. In the interview, Ms. Pardo emphasized the importance of incorporating responsible environmental and social practices in contracting processes, noting that the country needs to amend existing contracts to reflect the current environment. She also explained the benefits this contracting model can bring to companies, including improved reputation, reduced legal risks and long-term savings.
"We are behind in this matter, especially because we do not adapt existing contracts and legal instruments to scientific advances in this field," she said. "...We need environmental clauses tailored to businesses. This is an important opportunity to advance in contract renewal."
