Holland & Knight Partner Janis Schiff to Receive CREW DC’s Corporate Leadership Award
WASHINGTON (July 19, 2017) – The Washington, D.C., chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) has named Holland & Knight Partner Janis Schiff as the 2017 recipient of its prestigious Corporate Leadership Award. The award recognizes a president, CEO, principal or other senior leader of a company within the real estate community who has shown individual leadership in encouraging and promoting women within their leadership team. It will be presented at the group’s annual awards ceremony on September 28 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington.
Ms. Schiff is a partner in Holland & Knight’s Washington office and immediate past chair of the National Real Estate Section. In 2003, she founded the firm’s Rising Stars mentoring and leadership program for up-and-coming women attorneys. Since its inception, the program has helped dozens of women attorneys increase their professional and leadership skills by providing them with key tools, resources and in-depth training. She has been active in CREW on a local and national level for many years, and received the District of Columbia chapter’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 2004 and the national organization’s Network Impact Award in 2007 for her involvement as a founding member of the Maryland chapter.
“I am committed to sharing my experience and knowledge of the real estate and legal industries with women attorneys both within and outside of the firm looking to advance their careers,” said Ms. Schiff. “I am honored to have my efforts recognized by CREW and applaud its support of women leadership initiatives.”
