Overview
Byron P. Stevens is a business and finance attorney in Holland & Knight's Portland office. Mr. Stevens represents buyers and sellers in a wide range of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Mr. Stevens drafts and negotiates agreements, conducts due diligence, provides tax and compliance advice and advises clients on all other aspects of the transaction process, including related insurance and employment matters.
Additionally, Mr. Stevens oversees risk management issues to ensure the protection of assets and the facilitation of strategic business growth opportunities. He has extensive experience working with state and federal governmental agencies for various permits and approval procedures.
Beyond his M&A practice, Mr. Stevens works with companies at every stage of the business life cycle. He serves as general outside counsel to operating companies in a wide range of industries, working closely with his clients to manage issues around corporate governance, securities law compliance, equity and executive compensation, protection of intellectual property (IP) assets and general employment matters.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Stevens was an attorney at a Seattle-based law firm.
Before his law career, Mr. Stevens was a math teacher, coach and athletic director with Teach for America.
