4 Compliance Tips for New Davis-Bacon Rule

Labor, Employment and Benefits attorney Timothy Taylor was quoted in a Law360 article offering tips for compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) changes to the Davis-Bacon Act. The final rule, "Updating the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts Regulations," changes how the DOL will develop prevailing wage determinations. This rule also introduces anti-retaliation protections and expands coverage to secondary work sites. Mr. Taylor highlighted the need for companies to review contracts for missing prevailing wage provisions. He explained the importance of complying with the regulations from the outset to avoid potential complications and disputes down the line.

"Contractors need to be more wary and more proactive when bidding on a project that has any possible connection to the federal government or federal dollars," he said.
